Losing a horse or other pet is one of the most difficult things a person can experience.

Whether the loss of a pet is sudden, or something you’ve anticipated for weeks or months, it is a highly emotional time. Each person experiences grief differently – understanding what to expect during this time may be helpful for you.

We’ve talked to horse parents about their experience with horse aftercare and the loss of a horse, and have developed the following guide to address some common questions and feelings.

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Seigle

Avenue Presbyterian Church in the library of the Hope Building at 600 Seigle Avenue at
the corner of 10 Street in Charlotte. You may attend any number of meetings at no charge.

Feel free to bring pictures, toys or other objects connected with your pet.

Virtual Pet Loss Support Group

We will be offering twice a month a Virtual Pet Loss Group via Zoom to allow for better accessibility. We currently offer one complimentary session with 25 spots available. An RSVP is required. For more information on our upcoming sessions, or to RSVP please fill out our contact form.
